Vantage floor-cleaning robot: firmware 5.1

Vantage Robotics, 1998. Firmware for household robots.

Description

Firmware for a floor-cleaning robot sold for home use from 1998, read from a unit retired by its owners.

Provenance

Deposited by Harbour Region Arcade Preservation Society, which had held it unread for years. The window labels had peeled and the EPROMs had been exposed to light, so each was read many times. All of the work survives. The repairs are listed in the record’s damage map.

In the reading room it runs in emulation under profile LZE-ROBOT-2, from a read-only copy of the recovered image, as it would have on household robots.
